Total joint arthroplasty (TJA) volumes continue to rise, and perioperative efficiency optimization has become an established approach to meeting that demand within existing OR infrastructure.
As adoption grows, so does the value of outcome data. This prospective study compares patient outcomes before and after structured OR optimization at a high-volume ambulatory surgical center.
This single-surgeon analysis compared 272 primary TJA cases performed prior to optimization against 227 cases after full implementation. The DEO.care execution engine captured more than 50 datapoints per case and generated digital twin simulations to identify process efficiency opportunities.
Optimization focused on non-operative portions of the day, targeting preparation workflow, technique adjustments, communication and coordination, and parallelization.
